a5c7b9f00b In the Dzhugdzhur Mountains, Eastern Siberia, the criminal Dieter Von Cunth steals a Russian X5 nuclear warhead. Colonel James Faith travels to Rio Bamba, Ecuador, with the efficient Lieutenant Dixon Piper to summon the retired special operative MacGruber to retrieve the X5. MacGruber is considered deceased after the death of his beloved wife Casey by his archenemy Cunth in their wedding. MacGruber teams up with Piper and Vicki St. Elmo and they learn that the evil Cunth intends to use the warhead to destroy Washington D.C.
Former special ops agent, the eccentric MacGruber, was long thought to be dead, following the murder of his wife Casey Janine Fitzpatrick during their wedding ceremony ten years ago. MacGruber did not believe in the use of guns, but rather self-made tools and weapons on the spur of the moment with whatever materials were on hand, and did not believe in working off of plans. However, MacGruber is still very much alive and has dropped out of western society to recover emotionally from Casey's murder, recover which he knows he will never be able to do. Colonel Jim Faith is able to locate MacGruber and coerce him out of retirement as MacGruber's arch enemy, Dieter von Cunth, who is thought to be Casey's murderer, has stolen a nuclear warhead, his intended use of it unknown. The one saving grace at this point is that Cunth does not have the codes to launch it. MacGruber's task is to prevent Cunth from using the warhead, either by eliminating him, recovering the warhead, and/or preventing Cunth from getting the codes. Rather than use his dream team of former associates for this mission, he is relegated to a team of three: himself, his former associate Vicki St. Elmo who he has to convince to return to work rather than focus on her stumbling music career, and Lt. Dixon Piper, more typical of the traditional special op member, he who is Faith's choice but who MacGruber hates. Beyond actions by Cunth to carry out his intended use of the warhead, MacGruber and his team face the obstacles of the differences between MacGruber and Piper, the former who is constantly putting his team at risk in his "my way or the high way" attitude. Through it all, MacGruber has to decide if he can love again as his reunion with Vicki brings to the surface their mutual attraction, that love which has always existed on Vicki's side despite being Casey's best friend.
How could a movie this juvenile and immature get an 8 from me? I rate movies different. An 8 on a comedy doesn&#39;t = an 8 on a drama or an 8 in action or an 8 in a film-noir dystopia movie. The 8 represents the &quot;accomplishment of the movie for what it was intended to do.&quot; For me…<br/><br/>Sheer LAUGHTER and a ridiculous amount of nonsense that had me struggling for air the first time I saw it… and it gave my ribs a run for their money with my own trouble breathing.<br/><br/>The film, overall, is nowhere near an 8 in the &quot;world rankings&quot;, but for its spoof/farce comedy genre, it really succeeds for a few viewings and earns that 8 in that comedy aspect. That is the goal of a farce or spoof. <br/><br/>The movie is never intended to be seen for the 20th time and deliver a deep dramatic message. If you make it to a 20th viewing, it&#39;s to hear one-liners and utter stupidity.<br/><br/>The amount of idiocy and immaturity of MacGruber (spoofed from the late 80s show MacGuyver) is only as funny as the immaturity of the viewer allows it to be. Some scenes are ridiculous and not funny, while the majority of other scenes, such as MacGruber recruiting a team, visiting a club, or crashing a party are hilarious. His obsession with his car stereo is fantastic!<br/><br/>The exaggerated sex scenes are &quot;graphic&quot; and a giant joke. No one ever intended for them to be romantic.<br/><br/>I will just stop, so as not to give spoilers about the movie, and at that I say that there are loads of one-liners and crazy-wacko scenes that will keep you laughing hard.<br/><br/>If you are looking for a &quot;roll-your-eyes&quot; comedy and spoof in the vein of Leslie Nelson with…. F-words, then this is worth the time.
it gets such a low score partly because they sold it as something it isn&#39;t. the trailers show an action movie with real world characters but the movie is just a poor Will Ferrell clone of a-team/oo7 movies. It is a ridiculous humor movie. From the trailers, I thought i was going to see an interesting action movie but it is a teenage scream movie. I want my 4 bucks back because of misrepresentation<br/><br/>If yo want to watch bad juvenile humor like airplane (and not up to that bar by a long shot)or b movie spy movie, enjoy<br/><br/>but really this movie is bad, really bad but if you need something on TV while you do something else , this is the one

MacGruber is based on a Saturday Night Live skit of the same name. The skit itself was a parody of the TV series <a href="/title/tt0088559/">MacGyver (1985)</a> (1985-1992). The screenplay for MacGruber was written by the Saturday Night Live screenwriting team of Will Forte and John Solomon along with American filmmaker Jorma Taccone, who also directed the movie. &quot;Touch and Go&quot; by Emerson, Lake, and Powell is the song that plays during the montage as he checks off the names on his list. This comedy was released rated R in theaters worldwide. In the US, the DVD and Blu-ray disc releases contain this version alongside a longer unrated cut which adds more story and dialogue as well as more spicy material.
